On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The first Bell 206 JetRanger in a James Bond film is seen in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' where it brings James Bond disguised as sir Hillery to Blofeld's hideout 'Piz Gloria' in the Swiss Alps.

Diamonds Are Forever
In 'Diamonds Are Forever' the millionaire Willard Whyte has a JetRanger in his assult team.

Live And Let Die
The JetRanger hunts Bond and Solitare through the Kananga's poppy fields.

The Spy Who Loved Me
Stromberg sends off two sciencetist from Atlantis, just to blow the helicopter up remotely. Later his beautiful pilot Naomi hunts Bond in her JetRanger. Bond escapes turning his Lotus Esprit to a submarine and shoots down the JetRangert.

For Your Eye Only
In the pre-title sequence Blofeld remotely kills the pilot flying Bond in a 1972 Augusta/Bell 206B. Via radiocontrolling the JetRanger Blofeld tries to kill Bond by flying into a factory.

Facts

Designed in 1961 as entry in the US Army Light Observation Helicopter competition the Bell 206 first flight was in December 1962. The model was re-designed in 1965 for the civilian light helicopter market as JetRanger and first flight was January 1966. Several updates has been made, mainly engine improvements, but also a extended version Bell LongRanger was produced.

Bell Helicopter ended production of the Bell 206B-3 version in 2010. The Bell 206 series was very popular with more than 7000 build.

After Filming

The first JetRanger HX-XCF (8013) was owned by HeliSwiss. In January 1973 it was converted into a 206B Jet Ranger II during. On 22. August 1977 it crashed in the Beni-Slimane area of Algeria, the pilot was forced to land following a sudden loss of engine power. The hard landing damaged the helicopter beyond repair.

The JetRanger DFH-3 (657) was owned by the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF). It is no longer in service. It was written off on 25. February 1973.

The JetRanger G-BAKS (8339) from For Your Eyes Only crashed in fog 14. November 1997 in Cocking Hill, near Chichester, West Sussex, U.K.

Trivia

The filming of the pretitle-sequence in For Your Eyes Only was undertaken at the Becton Gas Works site in east London on 3 November 1980. The stunt pilot was Marc Wolff.
