The Antonov AN-124-100 is one of the worlds largest commercial cargo planes. On 26 July 1985, the An-124 set 21 official records by lifting a payload of 171,219 kg (377,473 pounds) to an altitude of 10.750 m (35,269 feet).

The aircraft has a 24-wheel landing gear system that enables it to operate from unprepared fields, hard packed snow, and ice-covered swampland.
